Muhammed Ali, also known as Cassius Clay, recently passed away June 3rd. Muhammed Ali was well know as a the greatest boxer of all time, an activist, actor and much more. Muhammed Ali made his stance in the boxing world when he won a gold medal in light heavyweight boxing at the 1960 Rome Olympics. In 1964 he upset Liston to win the heavyweight title, going against 7 to 1 odds to take the win.
Ali made history by refusing to join the draft for Vietnam, because of that he was suspended three and a half years from boxing. Ali after his suspension he went on to win two more Heavyweight titles. He finished his career with a 56-5 record and a legacy that won’t be forgotten.
One of his most famous fights was the Rumble in the Jungle in Kinshasa, Zaire were he fought George Foreman to win the heavyweight title. Ali’s net worth is also around 80 million dollars at the
time of his death. When he won his third heavyweight title and he became the first boxer to win three heavyweight titles.
Some of his awards include sportsman of the year, fighter of the year, sportsman of the century and sports personality of the century. Ali also donated millions of dollars to charity, and also helped release 15 hostages in Iraq.
In 2005 he earned the presidential medal of freedom from George Bush. Ali battled with Parkinson’s Disease for many years and even though he passed away he will always be remembered.
